An Idea & Commitment + the STWBC = Success for Heather Angel
Heather Angel, a veteran news reporter for KABB, has seen it all. Being a reporter seemed perfect for her, but she did not always like the stories she had to cover. Violence and tough beats did not reflect the San Antonio she knew and loved. She had strong skills in marketing, reporting, and producing and wanted to use the skills to start something new.

After a bad experience buying her first home, Heather came up with an idea for a TV show that focused on first time home buyers. Heather began to do extensive research and found that there were no home shows in Spanish, so she decided to start a new career and create her own company. Heather had never considered owning a business, since she did not consider herself an entrepreneur, but she was confident that she had the skills and traits that would help her achieve her goal.

Through additional web research, she found the South Texas Women's Business Center (STWBC). After attending workshops and counseling sessions with STWBC, Heather formed Innovative Multimedia Group with her first project being En Nuestro Hogar, a Spanish language program featuring homes for sale in the San Antonio community.

En Nuestro Hogar, fills a niche and is meeting a demand, the show focuses on issues ranging from understanding your credit score, knowing the different school districts and neighborhoods in San Antonio, to understanding what monthly payments are about.

Angel has multiple projects in the pipeline and she is expanding her market based. When asked her thoughts on her success and women entrepreneurship she stated, "I just think there is so much potential when women believe in themselves and take an educated risk with the help of the Women's Business Center."
